Simplon Bicycles GmbH company from Austria is working on a promotion with a local newspaper to auction one of their award winning (test winning) carbon road bikes, PAVO. The highest bidder will be determined by Dec. 19.06.
Wheels 4 Life will receive the whole amount from the auction. The bicycle has a value of approx. US$ 6,000.-
Fox Shox Inc. sold 276 raffle tickets during Interbike tradeshow in Las Vegas Sept. 27. -29. 2006. The lucky winner of the Fox Talas fork was Nate Trumble from Santa Cruz, Ca. Tickets sold for $ 1.- each all proceeds will benefit Wheels 4 Life. At a similar promotion at a recent tradeshow in Germany, Fox Shox sold 660 tickets.
Fox Racing Shox and their German distributor Toxoholics raffled off a Fox Talas 32 fork at Eurobike tradeshow in Friedrichshafen, Germany; to raise money for Wheels 4 Life. Over 4 days they sold 660 raffle tickets at 1 Euro per ticket. Subsequently we raised Euro 660.- and created a lot of awareness for our cause.
At the end of the last day of the trade-show, Hans drew the winning ticket out of the box and gave away a bunch of sweet Fox swag to the crowd.
At this year’s Eurobike show a total of 1000 CamelBak bottles were sold, generating proceeds of 10.000 Euro in total. The amount was handed over to Hans Rey, mountain bike legend and founder of ‘Wheels 4 Life’.
“This was the biggest promotion for our charity so far. It was a great way to raise awareness and funds. With this donation we can buy at least 150 bicycles. I hope we can do similar promotions in the future. It was nice to see how much dedication and heart the Camelbak crew put into this promotion during Eurobike”, said Hans Rey. Crankbrothers announces the production of a special edition 5050 XX pedal designed by extreme biking legend and former Mountain Bike World Champion Hans Rey. Crankbrothers will donate all profits of the sale of the pedals to Wheels4Life.
Wheels4Life is a non-profit organization founded by Hans Rey, which provides bikes for people in Third-World countries in need of transportation to get to work or to school; including health care workers. Often these people live in very primitive and remote areas with no access or means to public transportation. In these cases, the gift of a bicycle can change a life.
