Wheels4Life has delivered 30 bikes to people in need in Nepal.

Hans Rey and his pro mountain biker friends, Richie Schley and Wade Simmons just returned from one of their adventure trips to Nepal. As a side project they handed out 30 bikes to people in need of transportation.

Hans said:” my favorite moment was when we gave the 10 bikes to the people in Beni, amongst them was a milkman, vegetable farmer, welder, 5 students and 2 local newspaper journalists. The welder was later seen with his wife sitting around the corner crying of joy and happiness, since he had never before gotten anything for free in his life.”

All the bikes were bought locally; to support the local economy, ensure that spare-parts will be available and save in shipping and import costs. Of course Hans and his friends paid their travel expenses out of their own pockets, as usual, so Wheels 4 Life just had to pay for the bikes.

Other bikes went to the workers of the National Kidney Center who will use the bikes to get to work and in the field. Also to 2 further journalists, a orphanage and workers at the Annapurna Conservation Project.
