Wheels4Life – Providing Low Cost Quality Bikes for Third World Countries

George Vitolo Fundraiser

George Vitolo, Field Supervisor at Medix Ambulance Service, has agreed to ride his bike for 24 hours in the back country of Laguna Beach, California in a fundraising event appropriately named “24 Hours of Laguna”.  The event will start on October 1, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. and will end on October 2, 2011 at 9:00 a.m.  His goal is to raise awareness for Wheels4Life, a non-profit charity (501c(3)).  Laguna Cyclery and Medix Ambulance Service are just a couple of Vitolo’s sponsors.

“Wheels4Life is a charity I have been supporting for some time now.  I will be riding my bicycle for 24 hours and I am excited to be able to use this as an opportunity to draw some attention to the organization and the important work they do.  I highly encourage people to get involved.  Donations will be accepted at the event or on the Wheels4Life website,” explains Vitolo.

Wheels4Life is a non-profit charity (501c(3)), that provides free bicycles for people in need of transportation in Third World countries.  They partner with local individuals, organizations and other groups to help identify persons who sincerely need a bike to be able to go to school or to work.  Often these people live in very primitive and remote areas with no access or means to public transportation.  The closest school, doctor or work-place might be 10 or 20 miles away.  Having a bike can make all the difference in somebody’s life and can give them a chance to break out of the vicious poverty cycle.  The gift of mobility, in form of a bicycle, can do miracles. For more information about the bike route and the location of the donation tent, please contact Vitolo directly or visit wheels4life.org.If you would like more information about this topic, or to schedule an interview with George Vitolo, please contact him at (949) 338-5431 or gvitolo66@yahoo.com.
