W4V Film Project Update
We are approaching the last phase of our Wheels 4 Villages Film Project in Tanzania, where we have filmed over the period of the past 12 month the impact of bicycles on communities and individuals in the Northern Pare Mountains.
We are happy to announce that SAMBAZON - Acai, came on board as a sponsor for our movie project.
In Feb. ‘09 we will start our third and last trip for our film.
Aaron Lutze will be the editor of our film and he will also be our cameraman on this upcoming trip.
Goal for us is to film follow-up stories on the people who have already received bikes from us within the last year and to show how those bikes have already changed their lives and the lives of their families and communities.
At the same time we will also distribute another round of bikes to new recipients and we will launch 2 bike shops/service repair stations in the area, with the help from our friends from the Tretlager Bike Shop in Winterthur, Switzerland who have raised money specifically for this purpose. At the same time as this project develops further and unfolds, we are gaining more and more insight on how to best operate, which bikes are the best and which way of distribution works the best. We already have learned much and this project and its film, which will be released in the Summer/Fall ‘09, have helped us to structure our charity in a more efficient way. This film shall also help us promote our cause and demonstrate what a fundamental impact bicycles have in the Third World.
